Catering FAQ for events in Jaipur

Catering FAQ: About Monika Caterers

Who is Monika Caterers?

Monika Caterers is a family-run, pure veg catering company in Jaipur. We have been serving weddings, parties and office events since 2008, and our kitchen is in Vaishali Nagar.

How many events has Monika Caterers done?

More than 1000 events since 2008, and over 1 Lakh guests served. Most of them were weddings, receptions and family functions in Jaipur.

What services does Monika Caterers offer?

Our three main services are full service catering, dry catering and crockery on rent. We also do live counters, waiters and buffet setup.

Which areas of Jaipur do you cover?

All of Jaipur, including Vaishali Nagar, Mansarovar, Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura, C-Scheme, Tonk Road and Ajmer Road. We also cater outside Jaipur, across Rajasthan.

How do I choose a good caterer in Jaipur?

Ask for a tasting, a written menu with the per-plate rate, and the staff count for your guest list. Also check how long the caterer has been working and talk to a past client. Our list of questions to ask your wedding caterer covers the rest.

Do you have your own venue?

No, we do not run a venue. However, we work with many lawns and halls in Jaipur and can suggest one that fits your date and guest count.

Do you give packed food or tiffin?

We do not run a tiffin service. Packed meal boxes are possible only for orders of 500 people or more.

In dry catering, what do you provide and what do we arrange?

We arrange the gas for the kitchen, plus waiters, counters and ground management. Your halwai brings his own bhattis and cooking utensils, and the ration is yours.

Catering FAQ: Booking and Payment

How early should we book before the event?

For November to February wedding dates, book two to three months ahead. Other events, such as birthdays or office lunches, usually need one to two weeks. If your date is close, message us anyway, because sometimes we can still take it.

How much advance is needed?

20% of the quotation on the day you book, 50% in total 10 days before the event, 80% by the event day, and the remaining 20% after the event. Payments after booking are not refundable.

How do you work out the price?

We price per plate, because that is easiest to compare. The rate depends on the guest count, the number of dishes, live counters, the season and the venue. Our per-plate price guide explains each one.

Is GST included in the price, or added later?

Yes, we can provide a proper invoice for company events. Ask us when you request the quote.

What happens if the guest count changes later?

Tell us the final count 3 days before the event and we adjust the quantity and bill.

Catering FAQ: Menus and Food

Are you fully vegetarian, even for big weddings?

Yes, 100% pure veg. Nothing non-veg or egg comes into our kitchen, so there is nothing to keep separate. See pure veg catering.

Can we taste the food first?

Yes, once the menu is shortlisted. Most families taste the food before they pay the advance, so they also taste the main dishes and sweets.

Can you make Jain food while the rest is regular?

Yes. Some families make the whole menu Jain, while others keep one Jain counter. Either way, we cook Jain dishes separately, with separate utensils, and serve them from a marked counter if you like.

Can we change dishes if we like another menu better?

Yes. Sample menus are only a starting point, so swap any dish you want and we will price the new list.

How much food do you make per guest?

We plan from the confirmed count, plus a small buffer for walk-in guests, so food does not run short. Our wedding food quantity guide explains how.

Catering FAQ: Staff, Setup and Venues

Do you provide crockery and staff, or only food?

Yes. Both are usually part of the quote, or we can add them if you only asked for food.

Can you cater at our home or society?

Yes, if there is space for a temporary kitchen and access to water and power. Our manager also visits before the event to check this.

Do you cater if the wedding is outside Jaipur?

Yes, across Rajasthan. When the venue is outstation, travel and stay for our team are added to the quote.

We have our own halwai. Can you still help?

Yes. With dry catering, the halwai and ration are yours, and everything else is ours, including waiters, counters and ground management.

Still Have a Question?

Send your date and guest count. We will share a menu and price the same day.
